Welcome
to the Portland Center of Self-Realization Fellowship. This center
is composed of devoted members and friends of Self-Realization
Fellowship, a worldwide nonprofit organization with international
headquarters in Los Angeles California. Self-Realization
Fellowship was founded in 1920 by Paramahansa Yogananda for the purpose
of disseminating
Through its worldwide service and teachings Self-Realization Fellowship seeks to awaken a greater understanding of the harmony underlying all true religions and awaken a fuller expression of the love that unites all people when they realize their oneness with God.
Weekly SRF lessons are available for those who wish to study the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. The lessons are sent from the SRF International Headquarters and contain techniques for recharging the body, concentrating the mind, meditation, and the higher technique of Kriya Yoga, as well as instructions on how to live a balanced material and spiritual life.
As an introduction to these teachings we suggest that you read Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi. Copies of this spiritual classic are available in the bookroom at the Portland Center, in bookstores around the world and online directly from Self-Realization Fellowship.

"Self-realization is the knowing --- in body, mind, and soul --- that we are one with the omnipresence of God; that we do not have to pray that it come to us, that we are not merely near it at all times, but that God's omnipresence is our omnipresence, that we are just as much a part of Him now as we ever will be. All we have to do is improve our knowing."
